Being called in by Sherridan Smee to curate a community art show was such a joy– especially because it showcased the awesome affordable housing-centered work of Renaissance Creations .
To showcase the construction team's work on this East Knoxville home, we invited artists local to the area to display their work.
Part of this house's history is that it was home to a family of artists in the 1950s & 80s. Art is also part of its future, as one of the future residents is an artist. The rebirth of this house is also the rebirth of artistic expression. This event was a celebration of the creativity of Renaissance Creations & the creativity of the community.
Thank you to the artists: Margo Miller, Xavier Maurice, Ty Murray, and Theophilus (Alan) M. Jones. An extra thank you to Ty for lending a hand in locating artists and to Sherridan Smee for her work as Director of Operations.
